Barry Foster has been our secretary for the last year, making a big impact upon our club and helping us improve.
His responsibilities as secretary tend to be:

Being the first point of contact for club enquiries

Organising and attending key meetings (including Annual General Meetings)

Taking and distributing minutes

Delegating tasks to club members

Dealing with all correspondence

Attending to affiliations

Ensuring insurance is up to date and relevant

Maintaining up to date records and reference files

Arranging handover or succession planning for the position

Taking responsibility for personal conflicts of interest and declaring, recording and managing these appropriately
Grace Delaney-Segar
Media Manager
Grace has taken on the role of club media manager.
Her responsibilities as media manager tend to be:

To grow and raise the image of the club through the use of various forms of media.

Social Media Management: Responsible for growing and maintaining our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitch & TikTok).

Community Development: Develop, build and manage existing and new communities links within local community.
-
Reporting and Analysis. Create marketing reports , player reports, club reports for internal use to help further develop the club and its members.

Advertise upcoming sporting events.

Secure sponsors for sports teams and specific events
-
Respond to external media questions.
Anna Leyland
Fixtures Manager
Anna has taken on the role of Fixtures manager.
Her responsibilities as Fixtures manager tend to be:

To manage the availability of the club pitch
-
To maintain the clubs fixtures
-
To liaise with league secretaries on changes to fixture dates and times
-
Arrange fixture lists that match the club’s ability and strength in depth.

Register teams in competitions.
-
Organise officials and facilities for games.
-
Supply both teams with directions, timings and captain’s numbers.
-
Liaise with home teams, opposition, leagues and governing bodies.
-
Reschedule postponed matches.

Paul has played at a number of clubs in the North West in his 30 years and has finally found a home here at Wigan HC. Paul also plays Masters hockey for Wales.
